CPA Josephine Okui Ossiya Elected First Female President of ICPAU
CPA Josephine Okui Ossiya has been elected as the first female president of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). She will serve for the period of two years from 2023 to 2025. CPA Ronald Mutumba was elected as the vice president.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has unveiled the winners of the fourth cohort of the Student Scholarship Programme.
The 10 winners who applied for scholarships from June to July 2022 were announced by the President of ICPAU, CPA Constant Othieno Mayende on 28 March 2023. This was at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Kampala Skyz. The beneficiaries will use the scholarship package awarded to them to study the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA) Course.
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has launched new
syllabuses for the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA) and Accounting
Technicians Diploma (ATD) courses. The syllabuses have been approved by the
National Council for Higher Education as required by the Accountants Act, 2013 are
effective from 1 January 2023.
The Public Accountants Examinations Board (PAEB) on 4 October 2022 released the results of the September 2022 Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examinations. The examinations were held from 12 – 16 September 2022 at the UMA at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Lugogo Showgrounds, Multipurpose Hall, and for the CPA course only. There were 3,367 candidates. This compares favourably with similar diets in the past, that is, 93.8% in March 2022.
