OVERVIEW

The rapidly evolving environment caused by COVID -19 calls for extraordinary measures to safe guard lives, health and livelihoods. The requirements for accountability and transparency have to be modified during emergency situations. Public Financial Management (PFM) systems need to be responsive and flexible, while ensuring value for money and minimizing fraud and corruption particularly in the COVID -19 crisis.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

    • Identify adequate PFM systems which can be accommodated during the crisis.

    • Advise on reallocation of existing resources.

    • Identify and apply key reportable areas.

    • Prepare appropriate timely financial reports.

TARGET AUDIENCE & HOURS OF CPD

The webinar is suitable for a financial or non-financial official from public sector entities e.g. Municipal Managers, Chief Financial Officers, Departmental/Division Managers (e.g. Assets, Revenue, Expenditure etc, officials in the National Treasury as well as the various personnel who

advise and guide public sector entities in the application of PFM (and IPSAS).

Participants will be awarded 2 Hours of CPD for full time attendance.
