On the basis of the general evaluation criteria, National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) would have been the winner.

However, moderators noted that whereas NWSC, as its main business conducts extractive activities (uses water), it did not provide sufficient sustainability reporting. On this basis, NWSC could not take the Gold Award.

The moderators also noted that Brac Uganda did not provide adequate corporate governance reporting.

The moderators, therefore, indexed the scores factor in both sustainability and corporate governance reporting, to bring each criterion (general, corporate governance and sustainability reporting) to a maximum score of 150. The following formula was used:

General Criteria X 1

Sustainability Reporting Criteria X 1.5

Corporate Governance Criteria X 2.5
